Asbestos was used extensively across the UK and still many older out buildings and garages contain the lethal material. Asbestos was banned in the UK in 1999 but some use may still have continued while contractors tried to deplete remaining stock.
Be careful when working in any building which was constructed on or before the year 2000.
Where Is Asbestos Located In My Garage?
Asbestos was commonly added to cement to make strong durable panels. These were often corrugated and made for excellent roofing and side panels. Basically the roof or walls could be asbestos so it’s best not to disturb until having a survey carried out.

It’s not always possible to say with certainty if a material contains asbestos. We have seen challenging situations where even we couldn’t tell with certainty. But don’t worry, if we come across suspected asbestos material we will safely take samples and have these tested.
