Did you know that today, asbestos still poses very serious dangers. Many business owners never really consider asbestos risks in their daily activity but should they?

We tend to think that buildings constructed after the year 2000 will not contain any asbestos. There have been cases where asbestos has turned up in post 2000 structures even though the asbestos ban was introduced in 1999. In one example in England, a modern factory that was built after the ban in 2004 was found to contain asbestos. Asbestos containing materials should not have been found. However in this case old ovens (containing asbestos linings) were moved into the new facility. This is how the dangers of asbestos were introduced into a supposedly safe and more modern building. We always recommend being vigilant as much as possible and remain safe.
